Lane Library at Ripon College Goes Live on Koha with ByWater Solutions

ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and the U.S.’ forefront provider of Koha (www.koha-community.org) support, announced today that the Lane Library at Ripon College is now live on their installation of the Koha integrated library system.

The Lane Library at Ripon College houses approximately 185,000 items and their customized catalog can be viewed at: http://catalog.ripon.bywatersolutions.com

Carl Ziebell, Technical Services Librarian and Andrew Prellwitz, User Services Librarian and Lane Library Chair, had this to say about their decision to choose Koha with support from ByWater Solutions:

“Lane Library at Ripon College made the decision to switch to Koha hosted by ByWater Solutions in 2011, because we felt that it was a good philosophical match with Ripon’s DIY ethic. Koha provides the flexibility the library staff needs and the web 2.0 tools students desire. The updated interface has impressed our students, faculty and staff alike and continues to improve due to the flexibility of open source. We’re excited to be a part of the Koha community and we look forward to the many developments to come.”

North Bethesda, MD, April 26, 2012. The Sump Memorial Library in Papillion, Nebraska has joined the Pioneer consortium in using LibLime Koha for all collection and patron management services. The Sump Memorial Library staff worked with LibLime Project Managers to migrate bibliographic, item, and patron data from their legacy Follett ILS system.

    About the Sump Memorial Library
The city of Papillion first began providing library services to its citizens in 1921. The Sump Memorial Library provides access to materials and services to help community residents meet their personal, educational, and leisure needs. The library serves as the technology and information access center for the community. Special emphasis is placed on popular materials, supporting students at the kindergarten through high school academic levels and stimulating preschoolers’ interests in reading and learning.

    About the Pioneer Consortium
The Pioneer Consortium continues to expand the members in the LibLime Koha union catalog. The successes of the early members of the consortium are noticed by more and more libraries around the state and the consortium membership continues to grow. One of the main attractions is access to the LibLime Koha union catalog.
