    Wolper Subscription Services Named to EContent Magazine’s 2011-2012 EContent 100 List

    Easton, PA – (Nov 30, 2011) – Wolper Subscription Services, Inc., a leading provider of subscription and information management services, today announced it has been named to the EContent 100, a list of “companies that matter most in the digital content industry.” EContent Magazine has been compiling the prestigious list annually since 2001. This is the first year Wolper has been included.

    The EContent 100 is selected by a panel that includes editors of EContent and its sister publication, Information Today. Wolper was chosen in the Content Commerce category, which recognizes solutions that enable the buying and selling of digital content.

    “There are plenty of changes afoot on this year’s list,” said Theresa Cramer, Editor, EContent, “including some new categories, which is a response to our changing world. One thing remains the same, the companies that grease the wheels of content commerce are as important as ever, allowing publishers and content creators to monetize their hard work.”

    This marks the second recent accolade for Wolper and its cloud-based account management system, WOLPERweb®, which was the first implementation of its kind in the subscription management field when it debuted in 2001. Last month, Wolper was named a finalist by KM World Magazine for the 2011 KM Promise Award, which recognizes those organizations whose innovations in knowledge management actually deliver on the promise.

    "We are very honored to be selected by EContent Magazine for the top 100 list," said Susan Wolper, President and CEO of Wolper Subscription Services. "As a company, we are driven to stay ahead of the curve and offer the very best solutions to our customers. Through the years, we’ve been known for our soft skills – our customer service. But over the past decade, we’ve strived to excel on the technology side as well. We’ve had overwhelming positive feedback. And I am gratified to see that the feedback has reached the judges at EContent Magazine."

    Fellow EContent 100 award recipients include Apple, Google and Amazon, as well as leaders in the digital publishing and social media movements. The complete list of the 2011-2012 EContent 100 recipients are available in the December issue of EContent Magazine and online at http://www.econtentmag.com.

    Bethesda, MD, November 15, 2011 Valentine Independent School District (ISD), of Valentine Texas, has chosen LibLime Koha. Valentine ISD has selected LibLime as their vendor of choice to implement and support LibLime Koha, as their next generation, open development, Integrated Library System (ILS). The School District explored a variety of free and openly available ILS solutions and after extensive research, decided upon the LibLime Koha flavor, as it is the most feature rich and well-supported open development ILS available.
    Margaret Matthews, Big Bend Library Services Director says "Valentine ISD, located in far southwest Texas, is a very small financially strapped rural public school that has a great little library except it has never been automated. It has survived without an OPAC and circulation program until now. We have found LibLime Koha and the School District is extremely excited to have LibLime Koha so we can teach our students and faculty how to access books other than just hunting through the shelves and hoping to find resources they need. Our students will finally be prepared to go to larger communities, colleges or universities and be able to research and be equal with other students."

    About Valentine Independent School District
    The Valentine Independent School District serves the community of Valentine, Texas in southwest Texas. Valentine ISD provides class from pre-Kindergarten through grade twelve.

    About LibLime - PTFS
    LibLime – PTFS is the global leader in providing support for the Koha open source ILS. Rather than sell software licenses for static, hard-to-customize software products, the PTFS LibLime Division educates libraries about the benefits of open source, enabling them to make choices about how best to provide their communities and staff with better technology services. The PTFS LibLime Division then facilitates deployment of Koha in libraries by providing outstanding consulting, development, implementation, and support/hosting for libraries of all types and sizes. PTFS is also the developer of the world’s leading content management software, ArchivalWare, and specializes in meeting library personnel staffing requirements, digitization, and metadata keying services. ByWater Solutions Welcomes Ed Veal as Development Support Specialist

    ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and official Koha support company is proud to welcome Ed Veal as Development Support Specialist. Ed will be assisting in the support of the 400 plus libraries being supported by ByWater nationwide, as well as taking part in ByWater's OPAC customization projects.

    Ed has spent the last 16 years serving libraries, both public and academic, technical and non-technical. He started his career within the Lubbock Public library circulation dept. and transitioned to serve as their SirsiDynix Unicorn (Symphony) systems administrator, a position he held for 10 years. Ed then moved to the Texas Tech University Libraries to supervise the staff IT Support desk.

    Ed commented on his recent decision to join the ByWater Solutions team;

    "As a patron of libraries my whole life and a library staff member and library technologist for the past 16 years it is my view that libraries best thrive in an open community. The “open source” community embodies this spirit. I first met Brendan and Nate at KohaCon09 a few years ago and I immediately became a fan of them and ByWater Solutions. They have taken the “community is the foundation” philosophy of “open source” and used it as the solid foundation for ByWater Solutions, creating the environment that I had shrived to be part of for so long."

    Brendan Gallagher, CEO of ByWater Solutions stated: “We are really excited to have Ed on-board with the ByWater Solutions team! Having Ed help to beautify our customer's OPACs as well as use his skills to assist in any support issues that arise will be of great value to both ByWater and all of our partners.
