Fulton County Becomes 19th Evergreen Indiana Library

NORCROSS, Ga. – February 2, 2009

Fulton County Public Library is the 19th library to go live on the Evergreen Indiana shared catalog since migrations began in late August, 2008. Evergreen Indiana, administered by the Indiana State Library, is powered by the increasingly popular Evergreen open source library automation software. Equinox Software, Inc., the support and development company established by the original Evergreen developers, provided bumper-to-bumper support for the migrations and is providing round-the-clock ongoing technical support for the shared Evergreen Indiana catalog. Linn Landis, Fulton County Public Library Director, called Evergreen a “great present” for her library, adding, “In these hard economic times not having to pay a $20,000 annual fee for automated circulation system maintenance is very appealing.” Commenting on Evergreen’s user-friendly resource sharing functions and the shared Evergreen Indiana catalog, Landis said, “This also gives our customers more access to items that we do not have in our collection.” Landis also praised Evergreen’s “preminders,” which are courtesy messages that notify patrons before books are due.
