Marion, Iowa (February 2, 2009) - Book sales are excellent fund-raising events for local libraries especially during tough economic times when people are searching for bargains. A new website, BookSaleList.com, has been launched to help libraries promote book sales and bookstores.

"We've worked hard to design a website that is not only easy to use, but will offer a significant value to book sale organizers. BookSaleList will not only promote your book sale or store, but it can give you a place, in addition to your website, to spotlight your library or Friends group. In addition, we have a strategic growth plan that includes improvements and additional features. We're also dedicated to search engine optimization, so that when visitors search for book sales, they find you," stated web designer Jared Martinez.

BookSaleList.com offers both Free Listings and Deluxe Listings which can be edited or updated at any time. Both listings include: all contact information, a contact form to protect your email address, a brief Summary, a Google Map, driving directions, and the ability to have multiple listings to promote book sales and stores separately. The Deluxe Listing is highlighted to attract attention, adds a photo gallery, and an unlimited Detailed Description to showcase the event, Library, or Friends group.

The company also plans to promote listings through social networking sites such as Twitter. Martinez adds, "Our visitors deserve a professional site that is informative, easy to navigate, and incorporates the technology they've come to enjoy and expect. Social networking has become one of the best ways to promote events like book sales. At BookSaleList, as soon as a new listing is added, it's automatically posted to Twitter. We also have plans to utilize the networking capability of myspace and facebook in order to help promote Library sales."

As part of the Grand Opening, BookSaleList is offering the first 500 libraries and Friends of the Library groups the Deluxe State Listing for free in order to gather feedback regarding the features and design. “There's no catch, no fine print, and no obligation. New members can sign up for the Deluxe State Listing, try it out, and, after the six month campaign, renew as a Free Listing or Deluxe Listing," clarified Martinez.
