EBSCO Information Services Partners with StackMap to Expand Digital Wayfinding within Libraries
~ Indoor Mapping Integrated into EBSCO Discovery Service™
Improves the User Experience of Library Patrons ~

IPSWICH, Mass. — March 26, 2019 — EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has formally partnered with StackMap™, a digital platform for indoor mapping, so that customers may benefit from StackMap’s integrated services with EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS) in addition to other catalogs, easing the process of physically locating items in libraries in an effort to enhance the patron experience.

StackMap, a library company founded in 2008, looks to empower patrons via indoor collection mapping. This integration with EDS, launched in 2016, allows libraries to help users find print materials within their physical library more effectively. StackMap services also enable users to browse the library’s physical space and resources on a kiosk, tablet or website, as well as locate available computers and study spaces.

StackMap Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Lex Cooke says, “Our partnership with EBSCO and integration into their highly acclaimed discovery service allows StackMap to reach more libraries, helping to improve the patron experience at more institutions.”

The partnership supports EBSCO’s focus on providing users with one platform for their entire research experience, education and library needs, while enhancing the user experience. EBSCO Information Services Senior Vice President of Product Management Tim Lull says, “Through the EBSCO Discovery Service and StackMap integration, we are starting to build an ecosystem of partners to help provide services and solutions that our customers need. StackMap makes it easy for patrons to find what they need, improving the library user experience and giving more time back to librarians.”
