Brill first to sign French national license with the ISTEX Project

    Leiden (NL) / Boston (MA) – 20 January 2013

Brill is the first to sign an agreement with the French national licensing project ISTEX, making key academic electronic resources available to the French research community.

The agreement includes access to Brill’s Journal Archives Online, covering over 125,000 journal articles in the humanities, international law and biology. The complete corpus of the encyclopedic reference Brill’s New Pauly Online is also included, together with the renowned Hague Academy Collected Courses Online / Recueil des cours de l'Académie de la Haye en ligne – each essential scholarly works in their respective fields.

Developed in 2012, the ISTEX project provides online access to digital publications in all disciplines throughout the French research community on one central platform. The project is a joint effort between the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the French National Agency for Research (ANR).

“Through ISTEX’s innovative approach we are able to provide widespread access to these essential scholarly resources throughout eligible French institutions,” says Sam Bruinsma, Vice President Business Development at Brill. “We are proud that these materials have been selected and that Brill was chosen as the first publisher in this prestigious project.”
