IPSWICH, Mass. — October 12, 2010 — Ankara University, one of the largest universities in Turkey, has chosen EBSCO Discovery Service™ from EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO)—expanding on its successful use of EBSCOhost Integrated Search™ (EHIS) and bringing the latest technology to users.

An initial investment in federated search technology was not successful until Ankara University turned to EBSCO. “Federated searching was not an effective option for our users when it was first adopted. We began to have success when we switched our federated search engine to EBSCOhost Integrated Search last year and now we have decided to upgrade to EBSCO Discovery Service, the next logical step to offer users even more access to our collection.”

Atilgan says familiarity with EBSCOhost allows for an easy expansion of the services being offered from the library with minimal training for users and staff members. “Our researchers have already been using the EBSCOhost® platform for EHIS and EBSCOhost databases. Adding a discovery option to those recognizable resources allows us to create a single search system that makes the most of our library collection.”

to be Searchable in EBSCO Discovery Service™ ~

IPSWICH, Mass. — October 7, 2010 — Oxford University Press (OUP) has agreed to make its content available through EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS) from EBSCO Publishing. EDS customers will be able to search their institution’s collection of OUP resources from the EDS single search box—expanding access to library collections and improving search results.
