Phil Eastman, Partner In The Boise-Based Consulting Firm “Leadership Advisors Group”, Will Help Library Employees Enhance Their Leadership Effectiveness

OCTOBER 1, 2010 (Boise & Post Falls Idaho) – Leadership Advisors Group (http://www.leadershipadvisors.com) announced today that partner Phil Eastman will present a workshop based on his book The Character of Leadership: An Ancient Model for a Quantum Age at The Idaho Library Association 2010 Annual Conference (http://www.idaholibraries.org).

Mr. Eastman, a well-known conference speaker and leadership consultant authored The Character of Leadership and has been presenting keynote speeches related to the topic, helping organizations and businesses understand leadership and incorporate this timeless model that has proven itself throughout the ages and is even more relevant and necessary today.

"The challenges we face today are not economic, environmental, social, or legal; they are challenges of character and leadership,” said Mr. Eastman. “Organizations may be faced with many of these challenges, but any team can learn how to manage these issues better by improving leadership ability, thereby increasing morale within the organization and increasing productivity.”

“The Idaho Library Association is leading change, instead of letting it just happen,” continued Eastman. “Their executive management understands that it is the responsibility of the association to prepare the staff for the challenges that naturally occur. Whether the change is organizational, departmental, or just personal, it all includes people and they all need the tools to lead effectively.”

Mr. Eastman’s leadership presentation is based on his book, The Character of Leadership: An Ancient Model for a Quantum Age, a model that has its origins among the ancient philosophers.

“We are so thrilled to have Mr. Eastman speak to our organization,” said Anne Abrams of the Idaho Library Association. “Idaho’s libraries are busier than ever as more and more citizens are relying on libraries for books, activities, media and other materials that previously they may have bought. Librarians and library staff are being turned to for guidance, help and understanding as people look for ways to improve their lives either through education, job training, self-help or even entertainment. This takes the responsibility of our associates up a notch and, as such, we need to be ready to lead in ways that we may not have thought necessary previously. Mr. Eastman’s book demonstrates a surprisingly wide range of skills that leaders must possess and we are very pleased to have him share some of those with the members of our organization.”
