Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, 4 June 2010 – Roaring Development has released SimpleDL 2.0, the newest version of their digital collection management software. Version 2.0 offers real time zoom and pan image support, full Unicode support, multi-item object support, CSS based skins, and an integrated OCR engine.

The goal of each library is to help their patrons effectively discover items they need. In order to help patrons quickly find what they need SimpleDL 2.0 has enhanced the popular relevancy ranked SOLR search engine and combined it with faceted browsing. After a patron discovers the item he needs SimpleDL 2.0 automatically finds and recommends similar items from the collections.

For libraries, SimpleDL offers an easy to configure system and a fast and reliable bulk load process. With just a few clicks of the mouse each library can easily create and rename facet categories and adjust the search relevancy to meet the needs of their collections. The streamlined bulk load process enables libraries to spend more time scanning and preparing data instead of loading it.

Roaring Development will continue to enhance and refine SimpleDL to assist the library community in developing and delivering user friendly digital collections.
