Wallkill Public Library's will be holding an informational session on the brand new "Geek the Library" public awareness campaign. Wallkill Public Library is the first library in NYS to jump on board, joining over 100 libraries in the Midwest and south to help change perceptions about libraries, librarians and public funding.

This is a free program offered through OCLC and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The program will feature a presentation by Jenny Powell, OCLC consultant, informing participants of all the program has to offer libraries at no cost, ideas that have proven successful in the pilot programs run this past summer, and the marketing tools - including professional support from OCLC - that are available to libraries who register on their site: www.geekthelibrary.org.

Join us on Saturday, January 29 at 10:00 am (snow date, Jan. 30) for more information on this fun and exciting new program! Call Mary Lou Carolan for more information at 845-895-3707 or email her to RSVP at mcarolan@rcls.org.
    Refreshments will be served.
