Minimum Qualification : A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline followed by Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc). Or Master's Degree in any discipline with Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc) Or Associateship in Documentation and Information Science awarded by DRTC/NISCAIR or its equivalent. The applicant should have secured good academic career preferably First Class
Stipend : Rs. 5000/-
Duration : Two Years
Date of Written Test : December 19, 2009 (Time: 9.00 AM to 10.00 AM)
Date of Interview (for qualified candidates only): December 19, 2009 (Time: 2.00 PM)
Venue : Biju Patnaik Central Library, NIT Rourkela
Age : Below 27 years
Components of training : Advanced training in Library Classification & Cataloguing System, Automated Circulation System, Digital Library Information System, Information Management & Services, Information Retrieval and Dissemination, etc.
Candidates fulfilling the above requirements may send their applications in the prescribed format (see enclosure/attachment) along with Xerox copies of all certificates addressed to the Professor In-Charge Biju Patnaik Central Library, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela-769008, Orissa on or before November 30, 2009. Trainees would be expected to work on any of the two shifts including night shifts (up to 10.00 PM), Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Hostel accommodation may be provided if available. The applications other than in this format or incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.
