Digital platform Exact Editions has published a freely-accessible ‘Climate Crisis Resource Page’ in collaboration with over 50 of their publishing partners. Currently including nearly 150 articles from digitally archived issues which are usually only available by paid subscription, the page will be updated with new content on a monthly basis and counts among its prestigious contributors Geographical, New Internationalist and Resurgence & Ecologist.

The comprehensive resource page is divided into eight distinct sections that each feature a rich collection of articles; ‘Agriculture', ‘Biodiversity & Conversation’, ‘Climate Activism’, ‘Climate Literature & Art’, 'Climate Politics’, ‘Deforestation’, ‘Fossil Fuels & Pollution’ and ‘Renewable & Sustainable Resources’. The page is designed for both personal reading and unlimited use in schools, universities and other educational institutions as a diverse teaching tool that spans multiple disciplines.

The articles, which have been hand selected by the participating publishers, extend as far back as 1989 and carry readers through over 30 years of climate change theory, research and innovation to 2021. The Exact Editions platform displays each article exactly as it was published in the print issue and includes jump links to external website addresses to allow for further research.

While ByWater officially welcomed the first library partner in 2009, you can say that ByWater formed when the friendship of CEO and CRO, Brendan and Nate, began when they were three. The pair grew up and Brendan had been working in libraries and was introduced to the open source community through the Koha ILS. Nate was already working in sales and the two struck up a partnership with the mission of offering the best customer support available to libraries. Over the last 12 years, the goal of "happy partners" was the center of all work ByWater has done and the company has grown to over 35 employees who support thousands of libraries worldwide.

What is Your Environmental and Sustainability Stance?

Additionally, ByWater is a virtual company, in that all of our employees work from home. This greatly reduces our carbon footprint by eliminating the emissions typically expended during a commute to work as well as eliminating the power that would be used running a central office. We also strongly encourage all of our employees to recycle waste, not only in their offices but also in their homes. All in all, ByWater is an extremely efficient, green company. Educational music publication In Tune Monthly has launched subscriptions to a modern digital archive of issues on the Exact Editions platform. The brand new digital edition, which comprises 56 fully-searchable issues, will grow with each new issue published and is accessible across web, iOS and Android devices.
