Duluth, Ga., October 14, 2019: Equinox is pleased to announce the successful migration of the Eastern Cluster of Lutheran Seminaries to Koha, the first open source Integrated Library System to be used worldwide.

Their migration involved 318,801 bibliographic records and 2,929 patrons at the university. Equinox provided authority control and data services in addition to Koha support, hosting, and implementation. Remote training for Koha was also provided as part of the migration by Equinox.

“The Eastern Cluster of Lutheran Seminaries has had a successful implementation of Koha for our multi-site, multi-institutional consortia setting,” said Evan Boyd, Library Director and Archivist at Eastern Cluster of Lutheran Seminaries. “Koha’s ease of use and Equinox’s support services allow us to have a well-customized interface for our users. Throughout implementation, we’ve been impressed by the ways Koha simplifies some formerly time-intensive tasks and automates inter-campus lending between libraries. Equinox’s implementation staff has been responsive to our needs and quickly adapted to any special requirements we discovered through the setup and testing process. Not only has Koha reduced our costs, but it also allows us to more efficiently meet the needs of our patrons.”

Founded in 1999, Koha is the first free and open source library automation package. Equinox's team includes long-standing Koha developers.

"It was a pleasure working with the folks at the Eastern Cluster of Lutheran Seminaries,” said Jason Etheridge, Senior Developer at Equinox. “While the software is a large part of what we do collaborating with great people is what makes a migration. Congratulations and welcome to the Eastern Cluster of Lutheran Seminaries staff.”
