Duluth, Ga., July 12, 2019: Equinox is pleased to welcome Adams County Library System to Evergreen with their successful migration to the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System (PaILS) SPARK Consortium.

The Adams County Library System’s move will support 49,289 patrons. The migration included a total of 118,401 bibliographic records. Services provided by Equinox included project management and Evergreen software configuration. Data extraction and bibliographic de-duplication were completed as part of their migration encompassing item, patron, and transaction records. The library prepared for the migration with on site and remote training from Equinox.

"We have enjoyed the adventure of migrating our libraries to SPARK,” said Laura Goss, executive director of the Adams County Library System. “The Equniox/PaILS migration team gave us an overview and timeline so that we knew from the first phone call what to expect in the process, which made it easy to complete our tasks on schedule. The team was always quickly responsive to our questions and was able to figure out how to incorporate all of our quirks. The six Adams County Library branches are happy to have joined the SPARK community and look forward to continuing our involvement with PaILS and Equinox."

PaILS was founded in June 2011 as a non-profit organization to provide an open source integrated library system. It oversees SPARK, a consortium of Evergreen libraries across Pennsylvania. Equinox and PaILS have been collaborating on the SPARK consortium since 2013.

"One of my goals in each migration is to try to find ways to improve each one, to find some way to enrich the experience for the library migrating,” said Rogan Hamby, data and project analyst for Equinox. “I really like working with PAILS because in our collaboration I have a partner in developing that experience. The Adams library staff were great to work with. I know it was a busy time of the year for them and they handled this like they do it all the time. It's a thrill to see PAILS grow and by extension the Evergreen community grow with these great folks joining us."
