Duluth, Ga., February 11, 2019: Equinox is pleased to announce the successful migration of Clearfield County Public Library, Curwensville Public Library, Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, and the DuBois Public Library to Evergreen within the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System (PaILS) SPARK Consortium.

This move includes a total of 16,628 patron records and 129,513 bibliographic records. Services provided by Equinox as part of the migration included data extraction and deduplication encompassing bibliographic, item, patron, and transaction records. Equinox staff administered software configuration and project management as well as remote and onsite training.

“Here at SPARK we’re very happy to welcome the libraries in Clearfield County to our consortium,” said Lugene Shelly, SPARK Director of Technology and System Support. “By joining SPARK they will be able to share resources across all four library outlets for the first time, expanding access to services and resources for their patrons. They’ll also be joining neighboring county library systems on SPARK, and helping to expand the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System’s footprint in Pennsylvania. We will encourage the libraries’ staff to become involved with both the SPARK and Evergreen communities, and having worked closely with them during their migration, I’m sure they will be an asset to both.”

PaILS was founded in June 2011 as a non-profit organization to provide an open source integrated library system. It oversees SPARK, a consortia of Evergreen libraries across Pennsylvania. Equinox and PaILS have been collaborating on the SPARK consortia since 2013.

“It was great to work with the staff at these four libraries and see them come together onto a shared system,” said Jason Etheridge, Senior Developer at Equinox. “I am looking forward to seeing what they have in store for the future.”
