Duluth, Ga., November 27, 2018: Equinox is pleased to announce the successful migration of the Public Library of Catasauqua to Evergreen within the Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative and the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System (PaILS) SPARK Consortium.

Equinox provided project management and configuration as part of the migration in addition to data hosting and support. To prepare for the migration remote and onsite training was provided by Equinox to the Public Library of Catasauqua staff.

“For library tech people, it is hard to think of anything more exciting than when the catalog of a previously unautomated library shows itself to the world,” said Scott Thomas, executive director of PaILS/SPARK. “This is what happened with the Public Library of Catasauqua on November 8th. Within a matter of weeks, they will have gone from a card catalog and a manual circulation system to giving patrons at-home access to their account and resources. This is in addition to the resources now included with sharing materials with the other nine libraries in Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative. We here at PaILS are very pleased that, thanks to Evergreen and with the help of Equinox, we were able to make this possible.”

PaILS was founded in June 2011 as a non-profit organization to provide an open source integrated library system. It oversees SPARK, a consortia of Evergreen libraries across Pennsylvania. Equinox and PaILS have been collaborating on the SPARK consortia since 2013.

"It's not often that we have the privilege of helping a formerly unautomated library join an Evergreen consortium," said Galen Charlton, implementation and services manager at Equinox, "but we are pleased to see Catasauqua join SPARK and wish the library every success."
