    Leiden (NL) / Boston (USA) / Singapore (SG) – 9 August 2016

Brill, the international scholarly publisher, further expands its portfolios in Language and Linguistics and Literature and Cultural Studies with The Year’s Work in Modern Language Studies (YWMLS), formerly published by the Modern Humanities Research Association (Cambridge, UK). Founded in 1930, The Year’s Work seeks to be the most comprehensive critical bibliography on new scholarship in the fields of European languages, linguistics, literature and film, except for English Studies.

Professor Malcolm Cook, Chairman of the Modern Humanities Research Association, comments: “We have been proud to publish The Year’s Work since 1930, during which time it has become established as a leading bibliography in its field. Brill’s experienced publishing team, and international presence, will ensure this reputation is sustained for many years to come.”

Paul Scott and Graeme Dunphy, general editors of the Yearbook, comment: “We are delighted at this new phase in the publication of the YWMLS. Like the MHRA, Brill has a long and proven commitment to the Humanities and to research. As the editors of the French & Occitan and the German sections of the periodical, we look forward to continuing our work as general editors.”

Sam Bruinsma, Brill’s Senior VP Business Development, comments: “Brill is delighted to add this prestigious periodical to our growing list of journals. It is a perfect fit with our current Linguistics and Literature lists, which already include the Linguistic Bibliography. We owe thanks to the MHRA for the smooth transfer of The Year’s Work to Brill.”

The Year’s Work will continue under the editorial direction of Graeme Dunphy (Würzburg-Schweinfurt) and Paul Scott (University of Kansas). Volume 77 will be published by Brill early 2017 and, together with the back volumes, will be made available through Brill’s Books and Journals platform (http://booksandjournals.brillonline.com/). More information on the journal and pricing can be found at: www.brill.com/YWML.
