Announcing the Release of The Secondary Target by Diane Lynn

In The Secondary Target, author Diane Lynn immerses readers in the fascinating world of Manhattan’s elite as they interact with some of the city’s darkest characters, creating a fast-paced and suspenseful page-turner that culminates in a gripping conclusion.

(Santa Fe, New Mexico, March 21, 2016) Part mystery, part romance, part medical thriller, The Secondary Target satisfies readers who crave a one-of-a-kind fusion of these three genres. Lynn takes her readers on a riveting joy ride, with murder, secret codes, threatening letters, and ruthless characters.

The Secondary Target, Lynn’s debut novel, features Beth Scott, a smart, strong, and high-profile New York divorce attorney whose cases often involve protecting her female clients from domestic abuse. But then Beth becomes the victim. She returns home from work one day and is brutally assaulted, left with no memory of the assailant’s identity or the attack itself.

As detectives work the case, Beth must confront not only her physical condition but also her emotional one as well. Conflicting feelings for her former love interest (a coworker) and the doctor who saved her life create a complicated, impassioned love triangle. Meanwhile, detectives focus on obvious suspects, but new possibilities soon emerge and the case proves more complicated than imagined.

“Diane Lynn makes an auspicious debut in The Secondary Target, a thrill ride of violence, deception, and passion. This story has it all: romance, danger, suspense, and a cliff-hanger ending that will have readers eagerly awaiting Ms. Lynn’s next novel!”
—Robert D. Kidera, Tony Hillerman Prize–winning author of
Red Gold and the Gabe McKenna Mystery series

“The Secondary Target delights the erotic palate while at the same time offering a mystery that engages the mind. These ingredients, supplemented by a host of captivating characters, provide a glimpse into the modern world of millennials, where getting ahead means probing the limits of morality, sometimes with deadly consequences.”
—Lawrence A. Beer, JD, international attorney, professor, and author

    Author bio:
Lynn’s passion for writing began in childhood. She grew up in Virginia and loved reading and writing as a young girl, particularly mysteries. But, as an adult, a growing family and a career in surgical nursing and emergency medicine sidelined her passion.

Throughout this time, Diane never lost sight of her dream. She read mysteries and romance novels, took writing courses, attended workshops and conferences. When her life slowed down, she jumped right into writing, infusing it with her life and professional experiences. The result: an exciting debut novel that masterly weaves a story of mystery, romance, and suspense unlike any other.

Lynn is an inspiration to women everywhere. She believes that you are never too old to pursue your dreams. Her mantra: “If you can dream it, you can do it.” She is a perfect example that dreams come true, no matter where you are in life. She did not begin writing The Secondary Target until her retirement years, when her family and work responsibilities were behind her.

Diane Lynn lives in the Phoenix area, and is currently working on a sequel to The Secondary Target.

Münster University of Applied Sciences (The Fachhochschule Münster) is the first academic institution in Germany to select OCLC WorldShare Management Services as its library management system.

The announcement was made during the Bibliothekskongress 2016 conference in Leipzig.

WorldShare Management Services (WMS) is a complete, cloud-based library management system that offers all the applications needed to manage a library, including Acquisitions, Circulation, Metadata, Resource Sharing, License Management and a single-search Discovery interface to connect library users to the information they need. WMS also includes a range of Reports based on local data that help libraries understand their activities and track key metrics over time.

“It has always been our goal to replace existing workflows with efficient, staff friendly processes so that we can spend less of our valuable time on routine tasks,” said Dr. Bruno Klotz-Berendes, head of the library of the Münster University of Applied Sciences. “Our experience with WorldShare License Manager and the WorldCat knowledge base in managing our electronic resources confirmed that the use of shared information is useful and efficient. Moving to WorldShare Management Services is the next logical step—to move all our workflows to the cloud environment. As an innovative university, we look forward to working together with other libraries through WorldShare.”

"We welcome FH Münster as the first library in Germany to join the WorldShare Management Services community,” said Eric van Lubeek, Managing Director, OCLC EMEA and APAC. “Management of electronic, digital and print resources via WMS will enable the library to make their processes more efficient. These efficiencies will enable the library staff to spend more of their time on different objectives and priorities in service to their users.”

More than 390 libraries worldwide are using WMS to share bibliographic records, publisher and knowledge base data, vendor records, serials patterns and more. With WorldCat at its foundation, WMS enables libraries to draw on the collaborative data and work of libraries worldwide for more efficient workflows. WMS also provides libraries with the unique opportunity to share innovation, applications, infrastructure, vision and success in serving their users.
