Mancos School District Goes Live on the CLiC AspenCat LibLime Koha Union Catalog
North Bethesda, MD, February 5, 2016 – The Mancos School District Libraries have now joined the Colorado Library Consortium (CLiC) AspenCat LibLime Koha union catalog for all collection and patron management services. The Libraries and CLiC staff worked with the LibLime Project Management team to successfully transfer bibliographic, item and patron data to the AspenCat union catalog.

    About The Mancos School District
The Mancos School District serves the community of Mancos, CO. and outlying areas. The building that houses the Mancos High School is the oldest school building in Colorado that is still used as a school. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. The School District includes the Mancos Early Learning Center, the Mancos Elementary School, the Mancos Middle School, and the Mancos High School. Mancos is located in southwest Colorado, between Durango and Cortez on US 160. It is five miles east of the entrance to Mesa Verde National Park, and about 40 miles northeast of the Four Corners Monument. Mancos was a stop along the Denver, Rio Grande & Southern Railway, connecting to Durango to the east, and to the Telluride mining districts up north, via Dolores. Ranchers in the Mancos Valley provided beef, timber, and other agricultural products to the mining camps.

    About CLiC
The Colorado Library Consortium (CLiC), headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, serves over 450 libraries throughout the state, many of which also belong to the AspenCat LibLime Koha union catalog. Currently the CLiC database includes over 1,000,000 items. Resource sharing is one of the key components of the system with libraries requesting over 1,200 items from each other every month. Requests are growing as more patrons discover how easy it is to request an item not held at his or her home library. CLiC is committed to maintaining AspenCat as a fully featured, patron-focused system. In partnership with the Colorado State Library, AspenCat offers integration with external databases using EZproxy, integration through the State Library’s Plinkit-based web site hosting service and inter-connectivity with SWIFT, the statewide ILL system. AspenCat also currently offers a cooperative purchase for downloadable audio books from Recorded Books and eBooks from the 3M Library Cloud system.
