Egypt Selects Resources from EBSCO Information Services in National Project
~ National Project in Egypt to Make EBSCO’s Arab World Research Source, Academic Search Complete and K12 Resources Available to All Research Institutions in Egypt ~IPSWICH, Mass. — January 26, 2016 — Every research institution in Egypt will soon have access to five resources from EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) due to a national project launched by the Presidential Council for Education and Scientific Research. The project, The Egyptian Knowledge Bank, selected EBSCO to provide every person in Egypt with easy access to rich information with the aim of furthering scientific research and the formation of Egypt's Knowledge Society.
The National Project strives to develop both educational and scientific research in Egypt by providing easy access to rich and diversified content to all Egyptians. After a thorough evaluation, project leaders determined that EBSCO resources provided the most diversified and scholarly content. Arab World Research Source™ is one of the resources offered in the EBSCO package. All people in Egypt will benefit from its comprehensive collection of academic journals, magazines, trade publications, conference papers and industry profiles that are published in or pertain specifically to the Arab World.
On November 14, EBSCO’s regional representative, Mohamed Ibrahim, was invited to attend the official contract signing at the Presidential Palace. After the signing, The President of the Arab Republic of Egypt publicly announced the launch of the national project.
The four-year contract officially begins in January 2016 and all institutions will gain access to Arab World Research Source™, Academic Search Complete™ and K12 resources MAS Ultra, Middle Search Plus™ and Primary Search™.About EBSCO Information Services
