Elgar Titles Now Available through GOBI3

    – Agreement to add academic titles to GOBI3database for streamlined ordering –

November 1, 2013, Northampton, MA - Independent academic publisher Edward Elgar Publishing is pleased to announce a partnership with YBP Library Services (YBP), the academic division of Baker & Taylor, to offer ebooks on the award-winning Elgaronline platform through GOBI3 (Global Online Bibliographic Information), YBP’s acquisition and collection management interface.

Launched in 2013, Elgaronline already includes close to 2,500 Edward Elgar Publishing ebook titles with an additional 300 new titles planned for 2014. Elgaronline is the most cost effective way for large and small academic libraries alike to acquire comprehensive access to Edward Elgar original scholarship – including journals, scholarly monographs, reference works and the leading Research Handbook program in the social sciences and law. For more information watch the homepage video.

Libraries will be able to access ebook collections in four major subject areas – Law, Economics, Business and Management and Social and Political Science. The collections are sold by copyright year, with the option to purchase the forthcoming 2014 collections and receive access to titles ahead of print delivery.

Tim Williams, Managing Director of Edward Elgar Publishing said, “We have worked with libraries to ensure Elgaronline is an easy choice for acquisition librarians to make – with multiuser access, DRM free downloads, an intuitive interface and integration with library discovery services as standard. Many of our customers also expressed a preference to purchase through their current YBP workflow and so this partnership was a natural development.”

“Edward Elgar Publishing is one of the leading independent academic publishers in the social sciences and law subjects so we were very keen to offer Elgaronline to our customers," said Mark Kendall, Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations at YBP. "Our collaboration offers our academic customers the combination of Elgar’s highly-respected, quality content and YBP's value-added services to libraries and consortia."
