North Bethesda, MD, August 15, 2013 - LibLime, a division of PTFS, and WALDO (Westchester Academic Library Directors Organization) collaborated to present the Fourth Annual Academic Koha User Conference on August 5th and 6th. Over fifty attendees from 22 Academic Koha institutions participated in a review of the past year’s development successes and to map out the upcoming year’s development path.

The group reviewed over thirty-eight development projects completed in the past year, including the replacement of the Zebra search engine with Solr, the creation of foundational authority control, the expansion of local control over OPAC & staff search screens, and support for RDA.

Breakout sessions identified development priorities for future work relating to OPAC, Cataloging, and Circulation.

On day two, members of the LibLime Development Team (Clay Fouts and Ryan Higgins) presented live demonstrations of several new development projects that are nearing completion. These presentations included expansion of the GetIt acquisitions module to include standing orders, order notifications, & browser-agnostic access; the creation of a Restful API in Academic Koha; and enhanced authority control to support merging authorities.

Concepts for building on the new API capability to expand the reach of Academic Koha into new areas were also presented for consideration.
