    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    Duluth, GA —July 8, 2013

McDowell County Public Library System has gone live on Evergreen as part of the NC Cardinal consortium. Equinox Software oversaw both data migration and staff training. ESI will also continue to provide on-going system administration and technical support for the entire consortium.

McDowell Public Library is located in Marion, North Carolina. It began in 1920 as a small book collection by the local women’s club and today houses almost 82,000 items with branches in both Marion and Old Fort. They are the 14th library system to go live as part of NC Cardinal, the state-wide resource sharing initiative of the North Caroline State Library. The online catalog for entire consortium can be viewed at www.nccardinal.org.

Shae Tetterton, Equinox Project Manager says, "It was a pleasure working with Elizabeth House, the McDowell County Director. She was so on top of things and made this migration a great success for her library. And as always, it was great working with the folks at the North Carolina State Library to add another library to the NC Cardinal system. They always put in so much effort to make the transition smooth for everyone."

Elizabeth House, Director of McDowell County Public Library, says, "We are very excited about the resource sharing opportunities that joining the NC Cardinal Consortium enables us to provide our citizens. The Equinox staff and our State Library consultants have done an excellent job of helping our staff learn the new software, and they have worked very hard to make our move to Evergreen as seamless as possible. We already have patrons requesting items that we don't own from other NC Cardinal libraries, and they seem very happy with this service!"
