Lebanon Public Libraries Choose ByWater Solutions Koha Support

ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and the U.S.’ forefront provider of Koha support, announced today that the Lebanon Public Libraries in New Hampshire are now live on their installation of the Koha integrated library system.

ByWater Solutions completed the migration for the Lebanon Public Libraries in December and will be providing ongoing Koha support and hosting services for their nearly 70,000 items and 8,000 patrons.

Roger Robbins, Reference and Technical Services Librarian, discussed the process of migrating to Koha with ByWater Solutions:

“Our library felt that the move to Koha would be an advantage in terms of functionality and cost. Our fear was that during the transition from Sirsi to Koha we would be expected to perform high-level technical tasks that were beyond us. The team at ByWater told us not to worry, that they would provide all of the technical assistance we needed. And they did! There was, of course, much hard work for us to do, but we were guided and encouraged every step of the way. Ruth, Nicole, Ed, Melia, and Jessie (to name a few!) were super throughout the process. Our needs have been anticipated – and met! At no time, when we got stuck, were we left alone. Help was always a phone call or an email or a help ticket away. I kept waiting for tech disaster, that librarian’s nightmare where you don’t know what to do and a line of patrons are glowering at you, but it never happened. The staff loves the fact that all of the Koha patron data is on one page, cataloging is so much easier, and we know the safety net of ByWater support is always in place. Many thanks to ByWater for helping to make Koha a reality at the Lebanon Libraries!”
