Duluth, GA —May 10, 2012

It’s going to be a COOL summer in Ohio. Community Library in Sunbury and Germantown Public Library are the first libraries to go live with Evergreen as part of the new Consortium of Ohio Libraries (COOL). Three other libraries are expected to join by the end of the summer. Equinox Software, in conjunction with OHIONET who is providing hosting and primary system administration for the consortium, oversaw data migration, provided training services, and will continue to provide advanced technical support in a continued partnership with OHIONET.

Equinox Software and OHIONET project managers migrated 16,000 patron records and 88,000 bibliographic items from Sunbury and 6,200 patron records and almost 64,000 bibliographic items from Germantown to the new COOL combined catalog which can be found online at http://cool-cat.org/. With initial funding provided by the local libraries and LSTA grant via the State Library of Ohio, three other libraries are expected to join by the end of the summer with an initial total of eight by early 2013.
