    The 2012 Aurora Award/Prix Aurora celebrates speculative fiction works and activities by Canadians, created in 2011. The Auroras have been Canada's Science Fiction & Fantasy Awards since 1980.

    About the Books/Stories

    "Technicolor Ultra Mall" by Ryan Oakley is an ultra-violent science fiction dystopic novel set in the Toronto of the future. In a world where ecosystems have been destroyed by genetic pollution and cities have evolved into mega malls,"Technicolor Ultra Mall" tells a powerful story about the value of being human in a completely commodified world. "Technicolor Ultra Mall" is a finalist for the Aurora award in the category of BEST NOVEL - ENGLISH.

    “The Needle’s Eye” written by Suzanne Church, is one of the 18 popular spine tingling tales found in the all-Canadian horror and dark fantasy anthology, "Chilling Tales: Evil Did I Dwell; Lewd I Did I Live", edited by Michael Kelly. “The Needle’s Eye” is a finalist for the Aurora award in the category of BEST SHORT FICTION - ENGLISH.

    "Tesseracts Fifteen: A Case of Quite Curious Tales" edited by Julie Czerneda and Susan MacGregor, is the only YA edition in the long celebrated Tesseracts anthology series. Edited by Toronto's Julie Czerneda and Edmonton's Susan MacGregor, the very unique and popular Tesseracts Fifteen brings together science fiction, fantasy and a touch of darkness in an collection of short stories and poems, that has been written for YA, but loved by people of all ages.
