Southern NH Library Cooperative Goes Live on Koha with ByWater Solutions

ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and the US’s forefront provider of Koha (www.koha-community.org) support, announced today that the Southern NH Library Cooperative (SNHLC) made up of Plaistow Public Library, Sandown Public Library and the Kimball Library in Atkinson is now live on their installation of the Koha integrated library system.

The Library’s Koha installation went live in February, and ByWater Solutions will be providing ongoing support and hosting services for them. The Southern NH Library Cooperative has a collection of over 125,000 items.

    Nathan Curulla
, Executive Vice President visited the library on their go live day and had this to say:

“I am happy to have had the opportunity to get to know these three wonderful ladies over the past year and was thrilled to be there for their library’s go live day. I am very impressed with the way the Southern NH Library Co-op has efficiently promoted themselves to the public about their collaboration and sharing initiatives. It is very clear to me that they all know the importance of one’s patron base and are working very hard to make their patrons experience as enjoyable, convenient and feature rich as possible! I am very happy to have them as a ByWater partner and look forward to a long and productive relationship with them.”

Barbara Lachance, Library Director, Sandown  Public Library talks about her migration and go live experience:

“There is so much to learn with Koha but we’re learning the system as we go. The Sandown staff are excited to learn about all of the different aspects of Koha.  Sandown patrons are thrilled with the new service.  They love the Koha catalog, which gives them  the ability to create their own lists and to customize their accounts.  They are most happy with the shared lending between the three town libraries.

Having Nate and Jesse show up on our Go Live Day certainly demonstrated the care and the concern that the company has for its customers.  We really appreciate the quick response to our questions and issues from the migration and support team.  I look forward to a continued partnership with ByWater and being a member of the Koha Community.”

Diane M. Heer, Director, Kimball Library adds to Barbara’s comments:

“We have had nothing but positive feedback on the shared lending Koha allows us to do. I’m excited about all the possibilities Koha offers us and my staff is too.”

Diane Arrato Gavrish, Director, Plaistow Public Library remarks:

“Since my last two jobs were in libraries that were a part of the only other cooperative in New Hampshire, I am thrilled to be able to offer the residents of Plaistow this opportunity to share a catalog, resources and friendship. It has been a delight to show customers from the other two towns around our library and see their excitement when they can use their cards to borrow materials. We’ll be offering training for interested members on how to make the best use of their new catalog system. We appreciate the help and support we’ve received from the By-Water community, as well.”
