~Customers can now use EBSCO A-to-Z® as a simple OpenURL link resolver with sites such as PubMed and Google Scholar~

Birmingham, Ala. – May 11, 2011 – EBSCO A-to-Z® customers who do not already have a link resolver can now offer the benefits of OpenURL linking to help their users locate full text in the library’s collection.

Links can be easily integrated with sites like PubMed and Google Scholar so that users can link from the citation to gain access to the full-text article. If the needed article is in a subscribed EBSCOhost® full-text database or within an e-journal subscribed to through EBSCO, the user is taken directly to the full text. For other titles, the user is presented with the A-to-Z title details list from which they can navigate to the appropriate full text. All of this is available at no additional charge to EBSCO A-to-Z customers.

“For libraries that do not own a full-featured link resolver, EBSCO’s A-to-Z now offers a simple way to improve access to their collection,” says Oliver Pesch, chief strategist for e-resources at EBSCO. “And with automatic updates to both PubMed and Google Scholar, implementing this complimentary service in the most popular sites couldn’t be simpler.”

While this new EBSCO A-to-Z feature is not a replacement for LinkSource®, EBSCO’s full-featured OpenURL link resolver, it offers libraries that cannot afford a link resolver an economical way to enjoy some of the benefits.
