    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    Norcross, GA —January 27, 2011

Alberta Bible College, Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary and College, and Rocky Mountain College have gone live with Koha as their next generation ILS, creating a new consortium that will be called Southern Alberta Libraries of Theology, or “SALT”. Equinox Software oversaw the installation and migration of data from their previous systems and is providing hosting and technical support for the new consortium.
The three colleges now have a combined catalog of 85,801 bibliographic records. The new catalogs can be viewed at http://abccatalog.kohacatalog.com/, http://csbscatalog.kohacatalog.com/, and http://rmccatalog.kohacatalog.com/.
Kathy Seidler, Library Director for Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary and College, says “I've been pleased with the migration to the Koha system. Although things haven't been without a few bumps, the process has been relatively painless, the support staff very helpful, and the end product has been worth it!”

Galen Charlton, Equinox Software Vice President of Data Services, says, “I am pleased to welcome these libraries to the Koha community. I look forward to continuing to work with them and seeing how they will use their Koha system not only to run their individual catalogs but also to increase resource sharing for the benefit of their patrons.”

    About Koha
Created in 1999 by Katipo Communications for the Horowhenua Library Trust in New Zealand, Koha is the first open source Integrated Library System to be used worldwide. The software is a full-featured ILS with a dual-database design (search engine and RDBMS) built to be compliant with library standards. Koha’s OPAC, staff, and self-checkout interfaces are all web applications. Distributed under the General Public License (GPL), libraries are free to use and install Koha themselves or to purchase support and development service.
