Record Numbers of New and Existing Customers Select or Expand ITG Library Systems

Norcross, Ga. – July 19, 2010. The Integrated Technology Group (ITG), a leading developer and provider of library automation technologies across North America, continued to grow significantly during the second quarter of 2010, with a record number of installations performed during this period. The company’s revenue and profits for the first half of the year were the highest in the company's history as ITG sustains the strong double digit growth it has enjoyed every year since its founding. This consistent growth has been fueled by strong sales of existing products and the continued introduction of innovations to the marketplace. The past three months have included ITG’s first installation of Dialoc ID DiaMond Hybrid EM/RFID security gates; the introduction of the plug and play SmartReader™ RFID staff circulation station; and demonstrations of the company’s suite of ITGConnected™ cross-product communication, reporting and configuration tools.

The U.S.-based company has also expanded its reach in both northern and southern directions. ITG was awarded a contract for XpressCheck™ self-service systems at Vancouver Island Regional Library in Canada while establishing partnerships with Latin American companies in several countries. The first such relationship, with MultiSystems of Brazil, has resulted in the first RFID installation in South America's largest country, to be implemented during the third quarter of 2010.

ITG performed its first installations of Dialoc ID DiaMond hybrid EM/RFID security gates in District of Columbia Public Library branches during the quarter. Dialoc ID, based in the Netherlands, has been a world leader in the electronic article surveillance (EAS) field since 1977, and their hybrid gates offer many advantages to large libraries and consortia that share books or want to migrate to RFID over time.

Together with parent company Vernon Library Supplies, ITG has negotiated the exclusive U.S. rights to Intelletto Technology Inc.’s Plug-and-Play SmartReader™ SR10 RFID circulation station. The SR10, together with ITG’s own patented DirectReader™ offers American libraries the only IP rights-protected RFID staff operated check-out and check in functionality that allows direct (no-SIP) interface with all ILS circulation modules. It works with all RFID tags and systems offered currently in North America.

During the quarter, ITG also introduced its group of reporting, configuration and communications systems as ITGConnected™. Though the company’s various products have always had robust tools included as standard features, their ability to communicate with each other across a network gives libraries real power to refine, configure, and to better serve patrons. ITGXpressCheck™ patron self-service units, DiscXpress II™ secure AV storage and dispensing systems, ITG FullSort™ and ShortSort™ AMH systems, security systems running ITGExitWatch™ software—all work together to keep library operations running smoothly.

The Luther Rice Seminary and University Partners with ByWater Solutions for Koha Support and Hosting

ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and official Koha support company, announced today that the Luther Rice Seminary and University, of Lithonia, GA. has partnered with them for the hosting and support of their official Koha integrated library system installation.

The Library switched to Koha from their Winnebago Spectrum system in 2009.

Hal Haller, Librarian at LRU's Bertha Smith Library, and Assistant Professor of Bible and Theology, stated that the "affordability and mechanisms for improvement" that Koha offered were key factors in deciding to switch to an open source product.

When asked what made LRU decide to partner with ByWater for their support and hosting needs, he stated that the key factors were "the excellent feedback we received from the references we contacted, as well as quick response times to all requests for information and implementation."

"We are very excited to have the opportunity to partner with LRU" stated Brendan Gallagher, CEO of ByWater Solutions. He continued; "The transition from their self hosted environment over to our servers was quick and painless, and lifted the burden of server maintenance from the library and technology staff. We are thrilled that we are able to accommodate their needs."
