Central States Account Manager to serve the fund raising and financial development arm of group

Norcross, Ga. – May 21, 2010: Candice Gwin Oliver, MILS, ITG Account Manager since January 2009, has been elected Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect for the FRFDS section (Fund Raising and Financial Development Section) of LLAMA (Library Leadership and Management Association), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). She received her MLIS from the University of Alabama in 2003 and had been regional administrator, South and West, for the St. Louis County Library and director of library services for the Kirkwood Public Library, both in Missouri, before joining ITG. Oliver was named a 2008 Library Journal “Mover & Shaker.”

“When I was at Kirkwood I was active in marketing and programming,” explains Oliver, “and our director helped get me involved with LLAMA. They are experts in helping libraries engage with donors and endowments. It’s so important for libraries to think outside the box and look for other sources of funding besides taxes,” she adds.

Oliver will serve as vice-chair from June 2010 to June 2011, and as chair the following year. In addition to various ALA offices, she has been active in the Missouri Library Association since 2006, currently serving as chair of the Public Relations committee. In 2007, she was named an Emerging Leader by both the ALA and the Public Library Association (PLA).

“My work with ITG intersects with the work I did as a librarian, in that we’re all trying to find a way to provide more service with limited resources,” says Oliver. “My work with local and national library organizations keeps me informed and active so I can be a great resource and have access to new thinking about the profession.”

ITG has several library experts on its staff, offering a unique real-world perspective to customers and prospects. These include Midwest Account Manager Patty Wanninger, MLS, with 25 years of library experience, and Senior Systems Engineer Michael Imsand, former Chief Technology Officer for the Georgia Public Library System.
