Norcross, Ga. – November 3, 2009. Integrated Technology Group (ITG), a leading supplier of materials flow automation to libraries and an innovator in EM and RFID-enabled systems, has unveiled its ITG EM/RFID Trade-In Program. At any time in the future, libraries that have purchased an EM security system from ITG can trade up to an RFID system for the guaranteed additional cost of only $1,500 per pedestal. The ITG EM/RFID Trade-In Program takes the stress out of the decision-making process, allowing libraries to make technological advances at their own pace, without dramatic financial consequences.

Alternatively, libraries may purchase ITG’s DiaMond security system that offers both EM and RFID detection. The DiaMond system is ideal for libraries who want to migrate to RFID without immediately replacing all the existing EM tags in their collection.
“We want to grow with our customers,” says ITG President Shai Robkin, “and do so in a way that provides them with maximum flexibility.” With a philosophy built around “Plays Well With Others” interoperability, ITG supplies self-checkout, AMH, inventory/shelf control, and security products to libraries, based on both EM/bar code and RFID technologies. This approach also allows customers to integrate ITG products with those of other companies, one step at a time. The ITG EM/RFID Trade-In Program will save libraries many thousands of dollars in that process.

Norcross, Ga. – November 3, 2009. Integrated Technology Group (ITG), recently named Dialoc ID’s preferred North American partner, completed its first installations of Dialoc’s Ellipse electro-magnetic (EM) security systems at two Florida libraries in October. Both facilities, the St. Petersburg Public Library main branch and the Florida Community College library in downtown Jacksonville, utilize 3M EM tags for their collection but selected Dialoc ID gates from ITG after comparing price and capabilities. St, Petersburg is also awaiting installation of their first ITG XpressCheck™ self service kiosk. They currently have 3M self-checkout systems in place.

“The Dialoc product offers a lot of attractive technical features,” says ITG Southeast Account Manager Sergio Villet who brings decades of EM security experience to the table. “The allowance for aisle widths is very favorable,” he notes, and “their reliability is unparalleled.” Based in the Netherlands, Dialoc ID has been a world leader in electronic article surveillance (EAS) since 1977. Their pedestals, with advanced electromagnetic technology and switch capacitor filtering, provide exact, nearly noise-free tuning for optimal performance.

In addition to EM security pedestals and accessories, Dialoc ID brings new flexibility to the library marketplace with its hybrid DiaMond EM/RFID security gate systems. The DiaMond system is ideal for libraries that want to migrate to RFID without immediately replacing all the existing EM tags in their collection.

Dialoc ID announced the selection of ITG as its preferred North American distributor in July, 2009. ITG is a leading supplier of materials flow automation to libraries and is an innovator in EM and RFID-enabled systems. Unequalled in the marketplace, ITG offers its customers the option to trade up to RFID from EM security pedestals originally purchased from ITG for a cost of only $1500 each. The ITG EM/RFID Trade-In Program takes the stress out of the decision-making process, allowing libraries to make technological advances at their own pace, without dramatic financial consequences.

INWOOD, W.Va. (Nov. 11, 2009) – The Library Corporation (TLC) has optimized its LS2 PAC software to work with Google Analytics™, the popular service that tracks Web traffic and trends.
Have you ever wondered which of your library’s titles are searched for most often? Are you curious to know how much time borrowers spend looking through your library’s collection, or which subjects merit the most interest from card holders? Do special displays on your library floor equate to greater reader interest in the highlighted books and authors? Finding answers to these questions is easy for Google Analytics, which can show:
    • The most frequently used search terms.
    • The number of hits to each Web page.
    • The types of Internet browsers used by visitors to your Web site.
    • Patron trends from week to week, month to month, and year to year.

This just skims the surface of the deep pool of information available through Google Analytics. Weekly Web site reports, tables, charts, and graphs can be customized to provide as much or as little information as desired. Local system administrators can set up the analytics service and use that data to better frame and package their libraries to serve their communities.
Google Analytics integration is an invaluable resource offered at no charge to LS2 PAC customers. Once a library establishes a Google Analytics account, the TLC Support Department will complete the process of activating the service. (TLC cannot provide support for the application beyond the activation process.)
LS2 PAC is an exciting, flexible, multi-application platform that merges library automation with the user-friendly amenities of Web 2.0. LS2 PAC is beautiful software that boasts the Book River, an eye-catching representation of a library’s titles, as well as RSS news feeds that highlight current events and related library books; maps that show where items are located within a library; federated searching of in-house and online content; integrated searching of subscription databases; and much more, including:
    • List creation and sharing capabilities
    • Patron ratings, reviews, and search tags
    • Faceted, manageable search results ranked by relevancy
    • Customized display of search results
    • Genre browsing
    • Smart promotion window
    • Administrative access to custom-published lists for display case
    • Patron recommendations based on ratings
