COLUMBUS, OH --July 11, 2009-- LibLime, the leader in open-source solutions for libraries, announced today that Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan, has selected a Koha ZOOM hosted solution for their next integrated library system.

The Koha installation will be hosted off site at one of LibLime's secure data centers. The Library has also contracted with LibLime for data migration of their 80,000 bibliographic records, support and training services.

Madonna University is a private Catholic, liberal arts institution located in the Detroit suburb of Livonia, Michigan, within easy commuting distance from Ann Arbor, Michigan and Windsor, Canada. The University enrolls over 3,000 students at its main campus and three satellite locations, and offers programs in more than 75 undergraduate and 27 graduate areas. It is nationally recognized for pioneering four-year degrees in sign language, hospice, and gerontology.

"Madonna University is a primarily a commuter institution, with the majority of students balancing school, family, and job responsibilities. It is imperative that students maximize research time to acquire quality resources. The Library strives to respond to patron needs by offering user-friendly, flexible programs that enhance access to critical research materials," says Director Joanne Lumetta.

"The Koha ILS should prove to be a cost-effective, adaptable, and innovative solution to user problems encountered with the previous proprietary system," Lumetta adds.

The Library is looking forward to Koha's intuitive interface, ease of use, and ability to customize. Koha's enhanced content (book covers) and shelf browsing features are also expected to be popular among staff and students.
