COLUMBUS, OH - March 30, 2009 - LibLime, the leader in open-source solutions for libraries, and WALDO (Westchester Academic Library Directors Organization) have announced that Warren County Community College (WCCC) in New Jersey has selected Koha ZOOM for their next integrated library system (ILS).

The library has selected LibLime's fully-managed Koha ZOOM Hosted package. In this model, the system is installed, operated and maintained at one of LibLime's carrier-class data centers. LibLime will provide the library with installation, data migration, systems administration, ongoing maintenance, software development and staff training. Joining the WALDO consortium will enable Warren County Community College to take advantage of the discounts available to WALDO members for LibLime services.

    Why choose Koha?

"WCCC library wishes to be in the forefront of technology innovation in the information sciences to better service our students and faculty," explains David Orenstein, Library Director at WCCC.

"Migrating to Koha makes economic sense, improves access to our collections and allows us to be the first College in the state to move to the open-source platform," he adds.

David has this to say to other directors considering a move to Koha:

"Koha is here, it is tested and has shown itself to be a valuable research tool. Open source is the next step in ILS evolution and the community of libraries moving to Koha shows that it has an important and growing place at the table."

    About Koha

Since it was first put into production in early 2000, Koha has enabled new realities of open access, affordability, and free innovation for hundreds of small and medium-sized libraries around the world. Koha has lived up to its name, which means ‘Gift’ in the Maori language of New Zealand. From the outset, many libraries understood the power of this gift. They downloaded it, they installed it, they changed it and they contributed their solutions back to the library community.

Several companies around the world support Koha, providing libraries with a full array of services including installation, migration assistance, data integrity testing, staff training, software maintenance, support and customization.
