Ontario City Library and Long Beach Public Library are implementing Apex XpressCheck™ patron self-service kiosks, DirectReader™ staff station, PowerReader™ inventory wand and Apex RFID™ Security pedestals.

“By converting to ITG RFID technology, we had fewer false readings and fewer false alarms. We now have almost 100 percent accuracy in turning off the security tags,” said Gloria Freel, associate director of the Ontario Public Library.

The new RFID systems are designed to increase the amount of time staff spends assisting patrons, as well as curb future personnel costs by automating routine tasks.
“The best endorsement has been staff at the demo location competing to use the one circulation station with the ITG software,” said Sloan Sakamoto, manager of Automated Services Bureau for Long Beach Public Library. “Now we have the last of three of the toughest critics cheering for ITG RFID (with actual hands above the head motions) about how wonderful it all works and how everyone should use it. We are all shocked but happy the solution was new software!”
